A Shared Witness of Intergenerational Faith Transmission—2025 Singapore-Malaysia Pastors and Leaders’ Summit Concludes Successfully

Centred on the theme “Continuity with Innovation, Faithful in Every Generation”, the summit gathered over 260 pastors, key church leaders, seminary leaders, mission partners, and cross-disciplinary ministry practitioners from more than ten countries and regions to reflect together on contemporary mission and the transmission of faith within Chinese-speaking churches.
As one of the co-organisers, the Evangelical Alliance of Singapore (EAS) counted it a privilege to stand in partnership with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ across the region and around the world during this spiritually significant moment—responding to the challenges of our time, discerning the Lord’s direction, and seeking deeper intergenerational, international, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Focusing on Faith Transmission Amidst Cultural Transitions
This year’s summit placed special focus on the complex challenges currently confronting the Church—including the exodus of the younger generation, the crisis of faith amid cultural deconstruction, and the ethical and pastoral implications of digital transformation.
Speakers came from diverse national and ministry backgrounds, representing pastoral ministry, theology, education, media, and culture. Through keynote addresses, thematic seminars, panel discussions, and documentary screenings, participants gained first-hand insights into both local and cross-cultural ministry contexts—revealing a rich diversity of responses to shared missional challenges, all rooted in the same Gospel truth.
Deepening Connections, Expanding the Vision of Collaboration
Beyond the exchange of knowledge and ideas, the summit served as a powerful catalyst for relationship-building and spiritual unity. The EAS delegation connected with church leaders from various nations and regions to explore future collaborations in areas such as leadership training, Bible resource sharing, and digital evangelism strategies.
Particular attention was given to strengthening ties with Chinese-speaking churches in Malaysia. Given the geographical proximity and cultural similarities between the two nations, churches in Singapore and Malaysia face many common challenges and burdens. This summit provided a timely platform to refocus and align a shared vision for the future.
EAS also rejoiced in witnessing different denominations and mission agencies coming together in unity to discern collective strategies—demonstrating the real power of Gospel-centred partnerships. This spirit of cross-denominational and intergenerational journeying is precisely the direction that EAS has been faithfully advancing since its inception.
